Holy Family Mausoleum

Why Choose A Mausoleum?
Above ground entombment has been the choice of families throughout history as the final tribute to deceased loved ones and honored citizens. It ensures an enduring, attractive resting place as well as a permanent memorial to those we love. Practical Advantages Calvary’s new above ground mausolea will provide an attractive, permanent resting place, safe from the elements and easily accessible to family and friends. The use of mausoleum crypts eliminates the need for the vaults or grave liners required for in-ground burials, which saves you money. Committal services take place inside the mausoleum, out of inclement weather.

The purchase of mausoleum space now will protect you and your family against inflation. There will be a minimal fee at the time of entombment, or if you choose to pay this fee now, the fee will never increase. Mausoleum entombment also eliminates the expense of a memorial or monument.

We Invite You To Contact Us Today
Call us for a consultation with Jared Vogele or a member of our staff at (309) 788-6197. We will be happy to discuss the many options available for those wanting to make their cemetery arrangements in advance.

Most of us plan our financial futures meticulously, yet leave the inevitable question of our final arrangements unaddressed. People who choose to take on this very important task before time of need assure that their final wishes will truly be carried out, while sparing their loved ones the difficulty of making these most important decisions at the time of loss.

Do it for them, and gain peace of mind for yourself.

Memorial Plaques
We are offering highly personalized plaques not comparable to ground monuments.

When you purchase a crypt, Calvary will install the bronze frame with the cross on the crypt. It is included in the purchase price.

You then have the option of purchasing the bronze insert with your name at that time, or, to defer the choice until later. The other advantage of this “frame” method is that it allows you to remove the insert if you decide to re-sell the crypt (if you move away), or add an additional name by simply replacing the insert (if, for example, cremated remains of another family member are added inside the crypt), or upgrade the insert later.

The ability to replace the bronze insert without having to replace the entire plaque reduces the cost of changes or additions in the future and offers more versatility.

Sacred Art
Our new building will be constructed of quality, polished granite and will feature a carved mural designed by liturgical artist William Hannan featuring the Holy Family as a nod to the historic parishes of Rock Island: St. Mary’s, St. Joseph’s and Sacred Heart.

A Home for All Catholics
A Catholic cemetery is an integral part of the Church’s ministry and we are honored to assist families, loved ones and friends in their time of need. Calvary Cemetery is a place of peace and quiet reflection. Within its boundaries, it is a sacred and holy place. Only a Catholic cemetery has consecrated ground and here, among the signs of our faith, we can remember our deceased family members and friends in prayers for the faithfully departed.

Calvary Cemetery has been serving the Catholic community of the Quad Cities since 1855 by providing consecrated ground as a resting place for our departed in the hope and belief of the Resurrection.

Preference for mausoleum entombment continues to increase and, in response, the cemetery is embarking on the construction of a new mausoleum.

This mausoleum has 30 new crypts and 88 niches available for inurnment after cremation, but space is going quickly so please contact us today!
